The hostel was nice and calm, it has a beautiful terrace with an ocean view and the best hostel kitchen I’ve ever seen - SO big, well equipped and clean. Also, there is a TV room for lazy days. The kitchen is really the best part about the hostel, maybe it is that clean because you can rarely see people cooking there… it is not a very social hostel, it’s quite empty during the day and in the evening people tend to go out somewhere else or enjoy their me-time in the dorms.

I started my journey in Cairns and booked here and I can not explain how perfect of a first hostel experience it was. The hostel is located right in front of the bay, where there is tons of food options, it’s right next to the night market and the whole town is very walkable. It is a 17 minute walk from the greyhound. The rooms itself were clean. You do have to put your own sheets on and off, but they do provide a linen. If you get clod easily, I do suggest pack a little blanket as they only provide a top and bottom sheet and a pillow and case. The bed was very comfortable as well as was the pillow. They had a big locker under the bed to lock your belongings, plenty of room for most things. I do suggest a thin lock, as the lockers don’t work with the thicker ones. They have boy and girls bathroom on each floor with two toilets, two showers. The bathrooms were very clean and the shower space was very accommodating. The kitchen space is attached to the upper balcony. The Wi-Fi is not the best up there, but the environment was my favorite part. They have two movie rooms where you can watch Netflix and such. I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable. I was in a all female dorm, but that’s just preference for me personally. The one thing that was a lower point was how hot the common areas were, but not much to complain about with how much your paying per night. It’s a great location to stay for long term working holiday visa, as I met a few doing that and the accommodation suits it well. I would say it’s not the most social form and it’s defiantly not a party form, ad my room it was quite quiet. But I did make friends with most of my suitemates , so it is social enough to make friends but not to party. Overall great experience, and the reception was always helpful!
